Day 1: Lima
Start off your holiday with a couple of nights stay in Lima. Lima has a reputation for great restaurants and nightlife, so once you are checked in and relaxed after your flight, head out to explore the city’s culinary and nightlife scene. Overnight at Lima. Day 2: Lima – Puerto Maldonado Fly to Puerto Maldonado today, your gateway to the Amazon Rainforest. From the airport, you will be taken by motorboat to your luxury jungle lodge, where your stay will include all meals as well as several exciting rainforest adventures and activities. Today you can experience an easy nature walk as well as a twilight river excursion through the rainforest. Overnight at lodge in Amazon Rainforest. Day 3: Puerto Maldonado Go an excursion to Tambopata National Reserve and Lake Sandoval, home to various exotic birds and animals. Later, experience the thrill of canopy walking amidst lush rainforest and animal life at the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway. At night, go on another exciting nocturnal excursion. Overnight at lodge in Amazon Rainforest. Day 4: Puerto Maldonado – Cusco Head back to Puerto Maldonado from your lodge and fly into Cusco. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the town on your own. Overnight at Cusco. Day 5: Cusco Spend the day on a guided tour to one of the highlights of your trip – the enigmatic lost city of Machu Picchu! Get to these magical ancient ruins in comfort by a mix of train and bus, and spend time at the often mist-shrouded peak exploring this awe-inspiring place. Overnight at Cusco. Day 6: Cusco Spend the day on an excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Enjoy stunning views of the valley and visit ancient villages and ruins, including a visit to the fortress of Ollantaytambo and its main attraction, the Temple of the Sun. You can also choose to explore the valley on an adventure tour, offering a mix of mountain biking, kayaking and trekking. Overnight at Cusco. Day 7: Cusco – Puno Spend the day on a one-way luxury bus tour along the ‘Route of the Sun’, which takes you through the spectacular high altitude Andean landscapes stopping at interesting places along the way. Finally arrive in the evening at Puno, located 12,500ft above sea level on the shores of the grand, deep-blue Lake Titicaca – South America’s largest lake. Overnight at Puno. Day 8: Puno Head out on a tour of Lake Titicaca’s most famous attraction – the islands of Uros and Taquile. Be amazed at Uros, which is a small man-made island made entirely from floating reeds by the indigenous people belonging to ancient cultures! Then visit Taquile which is famous for its awe-inspiring vistas of Lake Titicaca. Overnight at Puno. Day 9: Puno – Lima Spend your final day in Lima at leisure and to catch up on any last minute shopping. Overnight at Lima. Day 10: Lima – India |
