Itinerary
Day 1: Vienna
Arrive in Vienna and spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the city on your own. Or take a tour of the city, including a visit to the royal Schonbrunn Palace. Don’t miss Vienna’s cafes, especially known for delicious chocolate desserts. Overnight at Vienna. Day 2: Vienna – Prague Take a train to Prague and settle into this picturesque city. As Prague remained unscathed in the world wars, its one of the best places to experience the old-world charms of Europe. Overnight at Prague. Day 3: Prague Explore this beautiful city on foot or by Segway – that's the best way to appreciate its great beauty, right from Prague Castle to the famous Charles Bridge. Later, experience the cool vibe of Prague's famed nightlife. Overnight at Prague. Day 4: Prague – Munich – Salzburg Collect you self-drive rental car from Munich and head out on the German Autobahns – the only highways in the world with, appropriately, no speed limit! Cross into Austria and settle in to Salzburg. Later, explore this beautiful city on your own. Overnight at Salzburg. Day 5: Salzburg Spend the day on a tour of the dreamy lakes and mountains like Wolfgang See and Hallstatt, in and around Salzburg. Or indulge in a bit of adventure by visiting the Werfen Ice caves. Overnight at Salzburg. Day 6: Salzburg – Zell Am See Head to the picturesque alpine village of Zell Am See, one of the most beautiful spots in the Austrian Alps, located on the shores of an idyllic lake. Spend the rest of the day at leisure indulging in a host of outdoor activities. Overnight at Zell Am See. Day 7: Zell Am See Embark on a breath-taking self-drive to Austria's highest mountain, Grossglockner. This is via the high quality, high altitude Grossglockner Alpine Road, stopping en route in many places for views and photo opportunities. The drive takes you to an altitude of 2,504m. Overnight at Zell Am See. Day 8: Zell am See Zell Am See offers a long line-up of activities. There are several cable cars nearby, from where you can enjoy panoramic views and also indulge in short easy hikes. The Kitzsteinhorn glacier has round the year snow, an amazing viewing platform at 3000m as well as snow activities. Also available are adventure sports like paragliding, sky-diving , white-water rafting and canyoning. Overnight at Zell Am See. Day 9: Zell Am See – Mayrhofen Drive to Mayrhofen via beautiful alpine scenery. The last leg of the journey is along one of Austria's most beautiful valleys, the Zillertal Valley. Later, explore the nearby peaks from the town's several cable cars and indulge in hiking and other activities. Overnight at Mayrhofen. Day 10: Mayrhofen Choose from one of the several amazing cable car options near Mayrhofen, including the one to the high altitude Hintertux Glacier, where there is enough snow even in summers, that skiing is also possible, apart from several other activities. Overnight at Kitzbuhel. Day 11: Mayrhofen – Munich It's time to drive back to Munich. En route, you can visit the iconic Neuschwanstein Castle. Rest of the day is free for shopping, strolling and sightseeing in Munich. Overnight at Munich. Day 12: Munich – India |
