Itinerary
Day 1: Christchurch
Start your dream honeymoon in the South Island of New Zealand. Pick up your self-drive rental car, head to your hotel in Christchurch and relax after your long flight. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight at Christchurch. Day 2: Christchurch – Lake Tekapo Start the first leg of your grand South Island road trip with a drive to the stunningly blue Lake Tekapo. Enjoy Lake Tekapo’s serenity during the day and at night, experience star-gazing below one of the clearest star-studded night skies in NZ. Overnight at Lake Tekapo (in a dreamy lake-view room). Day 3: Lake Tekapo A short drive today will bring you to NZ’s highest mountain, Mount Cook. The road is right along the stunning Lake Pukaki, the colour of which has to be seen to be believed! Mt. Cook itself is one of the best places for short alpine hikes in NZ. Explore and soak in the natural beauty all round. You also have the option to take a scenic helicopter flight that includes a snow landing. Overnight at Lake Tekapo. Day 4: Lake Tekapo – Queenstown Drive to Queenstown today and settle in. Later, take the Skyline Gondola cable car, which not only offers amazing panoramic views of Queenstown but where you can kick-off your adventures with thrilling Zip-lining, Paragliding & Luge Rides. Overnight at Queenstown. Day 5: Queenstown Have a blast in the world’s adventure capital and one of NZ’s most fun places, with a line-up of virtually every imaginable outdoor activity. Adrenalin high guaranteed! Sky-diving, White-water rafting, Fly-boarding, Quad-biking, Paragliding – you name it and Queenstown has got it! Overnight at Queenstown. Day 6: Queenstown Experience the exhilarating Shotover Jet Boat Ride. Follow it up with your choice of adventure sports. Overnight at Queenstown. Day 7: Queenstown Spend another day indulging in your pick of adventure activities. Or go on a picturesque drive to Glenorchy and experience the Dart River Funyaks. Choices abound and there are literally no dull moments. Overnight at Queenstown. Day 8: Queenstown – Te Anau Head to Te Anau today, another beautiful lakeside town that is the gateway to the Fiordland region. After your four action-packed days in Queenstown, stay here at the awesome Fiordland Lodge, one of the amazing Luxury Lodges of New Zealand. The absolutely secluded and serene location, stunning lake views and luxurious accommodation will leave you absolutely relaxed and pampered. Overnight at Fiordland Lodge, Te Anau. Day 9: Te Anau Choose from the lodge’s activity selection – the most famous attraction in this area is the Milford Sound itself, so if you wish you can go for a cruise on the Milford Sound. Or you can also opt for one of the exciting guided hikes that the lodge offers. Overnight at Fiordland Lodge, Te Anau. Day 10: Te Anau – Wanaka Drive from Te Anau to Wanaka today, a picturesque town en route to NZ’s West Coast. Spend the day at leisure soaking in the beautiful surroundings. Wanaka also offers several adventure sports, like the thrill of piloting an aircraft on your own, for instance! Your stay in Wanaka too will be planned at one of the beautifully located lodges. Overnight at Wanaka. Day 11: Wanaka Take a helicopter ride today to the Coromandel Peak on the Mt. Roy Range, to end your South Island stay on another high note. Enjoy an utterly private gourmet picnic at the peak and also get some memorable professional photographs taken amidst the stunning surroundings, that you will cherish forever. Overnight at Wanaka. Day 12: Wanaka – Queenstown – Auckland Drive down to Queenstown airport, which is only a short distance away and fly back to Auckland. Later in the evening, visit the Skycity Tower for panoramic views and then spend time at leisure, including at the Skycity casino & restaurants. Overnight at Auckland. Day 13: Auckland – Tahiti Fly to Tahiti today, which has the main international airport in French Polynesia. While it’s a short flight, you will gain an entire day as you cross time zones. Spend the day at leisure or explore Tahiti on your own. Overnight at Tahiti. Day 14 – 17: Bora Bora A short flight to Bora Bora and then a boat transfer will bring you to your tropical paradise, with a stay in the ultimate over-water bungalows at your chosen resort. Spend the next 4 days settling into the island vibe, relaxing and enjoying the activities on hand. This is what honeymoon dreams are made of – truly one of the most stunning paradise locations in the world! Avail of activities such as 4WD tours and lagoon tours or indulge in scuba-diving, snorkelling and other water sports at your resort. Overnight at a stunning over-water bungalow in one of Bora Bora’s 5-star luxury resorts. Day 18: Bora Bora – Auckland Head back to Auckland via Tahiti (depending on flight timings the one-night stay in Tahiti may either be before or after the Bora Bora stay). Spend your final day in Auckland at leisure and to catch up on any last minute shopping. Overnight at Auckland. Day 19: Auckland – India |
