Itinerary
Day 1: Zurich – Lucerne
Arrive in Zurich and proceed by a short train journey directly from the airport to Lucerne for the first two nights of your holiday. Once you are in Lucerne, in the evening you can go for a beautiful sightseeing cruise on Lake Lucerne surrounded by majestic mountain peaks, forests and meadows. Overnight at Lucerne. Day 2: Lucerne Today, visit the famous Mount Titlis which still surpasses the highest of expectations, so glorious is the panorama of nature at the top of this alpine peak. Not only that, there are also several fun snow activities at Titlis. Overnight at Lucerne. Day 3: Lucerne – Interlaken The rail journey from Lucerne to Interlaken is the on the Golden Pass Train, one of Switzerland’s most stunning rail routes, enjoyed from stunning panoramic-window trains. Once in Interlaken, explore the picturesque town or get an adrenalin high engaging in one of the many adventure sports available here like Paragliding, Canyoning and so on. Overnight at Interlaken. Day 4: Interlaken Today proceed for Jungfraujoch Excursion, a major highlight of the Swiss Alps. Spend time at the peak, being spell-bound by the mountain vistas and snow all around. On your way down, you have several exciting and picturesque hiking options. So, take your time and truly experience nature on a leisurely hike. Overnight at Interlaken. Day 5: Interlaken Another panoramic peak beckons you - Schilthorn, with its unbeatable 360 degree views of surrounding snow-covered mountains. You have the option on your way down from Schilthorn, instead of cable-car, to hike down the beautiful countryside on well-maintained walking paths in the Murren region. Paragliding, sky-diving and river-rafting activities are also available. Overnight at Interlaken. Day 6: Interlaken – Zermatt Transfer by train to Zermatt, host to the legendary Matterhorn peak. The rest of your day is free to soak in the pleasures of this peaceful, car-free alpine village. Several adventure sports like heli-skiing, sky-diving, paragliding are also available, so go ahead and take your pick. Overnight at Zermatt. Day 7: Zermatt From Zermatt, embark on a scenic journey to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, Europe’s highest cable car station, offering memorable views of the Matterhorn peak. It is also one of the few spots offering guaranteed skiing even in summer! Apart from Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, the stunning alpine train to Gornergrat is another great option for Matterhorn views. Overnight at Zermatt. Day 8: Zermatt – St. Moritz The journey from Zermatt to St. Moritz is via the iconic Glacier Express, possibly Switzerland’s most famous scenic rail journey. It’s a leisurely 7.5 hour journey in a luxurious train with ultra-panoramic windows that let you truly appreciate the high-alpine landscapes. Overnight at St. Moritz. Day 9: St. Moritz St. Moritz is one of the prettiest lakeside destinations in Switzerland, with great luxury accommodation, spas and restaurants-with-a-view such as the famous Muottas Muragl. Moreover, three great cable cars accessible nearby include Piz Nair, Corvatsch and Diavolezza from where you can enjoy a host of awesome hiking and biking options. Overnight at St. Moritz. Day 10: St. Moritz – Lugano The Bernina express is another legendary rail journey of Switzerland, with part of route also involve a scenic bus journey that takes you from the high Alps down to the sunny weather of Lugano. Day 11: Lugano Spend a leisurely day at Lugano, enjoying a lake cruise, cable car rides to the surrounding mountains like Monte Bre and Monte San Salvatore, eating in street-side cafes and restaurants as well as brand shopping. Overnight at Lugano. Day 12: Lugano Enjoy a final day soaking in the Mediterranean pleasures of the Ticino region. Apart from Lugano itself, you can also head out for a day trip to the nearby Lake Como on the Italian side of the border. Lake Maggiore is another picturesque lake nearby. Moreover, even Milan is easily accessible by a short train ride, if it’s world-class fashion shopping that you would like to indulge in. Overnight at Lugano. Day 13: Lugano – Lausanne The final leg of your Swiss holiday is via the Lavaux-Simplon-Centovalli Line. The train starts from the nearby scenic town of Locarno, from where the scenic journey finally takes you to Lausanne. Spend the day at leisure in Lausanne, located on the shores of the grand Lake Geneva and home to great luxury accommodation. Overnight at Lausanne. Day 14: Lausanne Take a lake cruise, indulge in some last-minute brand shopping or explore the nearby towns of Montreux and Vevey located along Lake Geneva. From Montreux you can also access the stunning Glacier 3000, one of the top peak destinations in Switzerland.
